Col. Lou Silva, Ret USMC

Lou’s favorite scripture is Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.” This scripture depicts what Lou’s relationship with God has been. He enlisted in the USMC in November of 1967 and completed his career in 29 Palms CA as a base inspector and Director of MCCS.

Col. Silva’s personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star with Combat V, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal with four awards, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star and the Republic of Korea’s Presidential Merit Medal.

At the Spetember 19, 2009 Benedictus breakfast, Lou shared how God was so much a part of his life in the places God placed him from his childhood and through war time in Vietnam until now. God helped him through some trying circumstances. Lou and his wife Francis have four children. Lou is also an active fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Hear Col. Silva share his life as a Marine, as a husband, as a father, and most of all as a Spiritual Leader living out Matthew 7:7.
